PAUSTIK

PAUSTIK is a women and child development project. It demonstrates sustainable approaches and strategies to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition among vulnerable groups in 45 villages in and around Karadi of Hungund Taluka, Bagalkot district. The project has reduced underweight and under-nutrition among children, low body mass index among adolescent girls and lactating women in the project areas. This is realized by following the inter-generational life-cycle approach, eliminate abnormal low weight and severe malnutrition in children (earlier termed as Grade 3 and 4 malnutrition as per Gomez Classification), reduce the incidence of low birth babies, infant mortality, child mortality, maternal mortality, anemia and other micronutrient deficiencies among children, adolescent girls and women. The project is supported by Kindermissionswerk Germany through our state forum Karnataka Regional Organisation for Social Service.
