Naturopathy, a holistic system of medicine, that harnesses the power of natural remedies to
heal the body and maintain health, is gaining traction in India as individuals seek alternative
ways to address their health concerns. In alignment with this growing interest, our project
collaborated with the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) Pune to conduct health camps.
These camps served as a platform for people to discover the benefits of naturopathy and
experience its transformative effects on their well-being.
Holistic Healing Services: The health camps offered a comprehensive array of services,
including yoga therapy, hydrotherapy, diet counseling, and acupuncture. BDSSS leveraged
these therapeutic modalities and raised awareness about them to identify and address various
health issues prevalent in the community. Common conditions such as diabetes, hypertension,
arthritis, asthma, and obesity were traced and treated through naturopathic approaches.
Additionally, free health check-ups were provided, enabling individuals to monitor vital
parameters such as blood pressure and blood sugar.
Empowering Communities: Through this initiative, we reached out to 5000 individuals in the
Dharwad district, fostering awareness about the principles of nature cure as part of the Azadi
Ka Amrit Mohotsav (AKAM) by the Government. The project prioritized vulnerable women
and girl children, actively involving them in self-care practices through naturopathy. It also
laid the foundation for a natural healing ecosystem within the project's operational areas.
Positive Impact: The health camps in the first phase of the project received resounding
acclaim from the people of the Dharwad region. While 5000 individuals directly benefited
from the project, many others indirectly experienced improvements in their health conditions
through enhanced naturopathic awareness. These camps not only encouraged people to
embrace a natural and healthy lifestyle but also empowered them to take charge of their well-
being. We are in the phase II now.
